This book is a truthful
account of Mr. Vaikunth’s, career as a police officer right from the time he
joined the Indian Police Service in 1961 – committed to the rule of law and in
pursuit of fair and impartial justice in an environment which was gradually
steaming out of the idealism, which was evident soon after India became
independent in 1947.
The book records the voyage of
Mr. V. Vaikunth as a policeman for a period spanning more than three decades.
It narrates his attempts to convert challenges into opportunities, often
dwelling on sensational events as well as disappointments, indicative of ups and
downs in the life of a professional.
This book is an attempt to draw insights through a great measure of day-to-day
documentation spread over more than last 3 decades of the 20-century.
Though, predominantly the book carries an extensive local flavor of the State of Tamil Nadu and the nation, it is bound to have an enormous universal appeal.
